: Is that what you were referring to? Yup. That's it. It does seem to indicate that doing so requires a minimum mass, but also indicates that it sacrifices mass. So apparently it's something the Flood can only do when they reach a critical mass, but are only willing to do so when the long-term gains (core preservation) outrank the short-term sacrifices.
