In Response To: Re: Criticism of Bungie storytelling (Narcogen) : No. It's because there is a long and glorious history of Bungie protagonists : jumping. : Pathways into Darkness. Marathon 2. Halo 1 (Keyes). Halo 2 (High Charity). : In fact, the Chief doesn't jump in order to create filler levels. He jumped
This serves the game but it doesn't serve the character. Maybe we should just say that its a legacy of the h2 problems and hope that future Bungie games respects the characters and their world better. In future... Work out stuff in advance, come up with solutions that repect the characters. Watch Star Wars before sitting down to the typewritter. That has tons of action, is a great yarn, and completely respects the viewpoints and positions of all the characters. Luke does what you'd expect Luke would do in his position. Ditto for Leia, Han, and Obi-Wan. They don't do bizarre things because the story needs them to.
