In Response To: Re: Hokey stories and ancient religions. (Peptuck) : Not quite. Looking at him in the context of Halo 3, most of what we see in : Halo 3 is his public face, with plenty of fun religious zealousness. Its : the moment when he's about to fire the Halos that we see a glimpse of the : real Truth, an echo of the sinister one we saw in Halo 2. I don't think : Halo 3 changes his character, it just shows that while he is sinister, his : motivations are religious, not secular, like a lot of people suspected. Oh, I think that his motivation is secular. Even Bungie admits it: "Truth has built up this whole religion around these rings...while the real motivation is that of a colossal power grab" -Journey's End, paraphrased.
: Never played Marathon, I take it? What does that have to do with anything? : He didn't get there quickly. Truth got there slowly. untrue, actually. Truth gets there, consolidates his power, MC stays for a while, leaves on a contract for Marvel comics, then returns to finish the fight. (I think)
