In Response To: Re: Criticism of Bungie storytelling (elpolloguapo) : Yeah. I was really hoping we'd see some great forerunner architecture in : H3-like fighting your way into the ark in a pathways-esque fashion. Turns : out the ark wasn't really designed that way, and we're going to be : cruising around in a desert. Funtastic. I love that level. In fact, I like that in the Ark/Covenant level pair the interiors are at a minimum. H1 took a lot of criticism for repeating interiors, and the H2 levels that are interiors are my least favorite. Like it or not, what distinguishes Halo gameplay from that of similar shooters is largely the vehicle combat, which is a bit more comprehensive than in most similar games. Compare again to, say, Half-Life. : I've gone through every bit of every game looking for forerunner
: In short, I wanted Forerunner Tank. Awesomeness would've ensued. Actually I always figured that, given the level cut, Gravemind's tentacle grabbed the Chief from under the lake and pulled him through some subterranean cavern to his lair. From the temple where you kill Regret you can see the Shield Wall in the background, and beyond lies the Library, where presumably Gravemind is.
