In Response To: Re: The worst example is Floodgate (Charley117) : It's another aspect of the writers at Bungie decided to throw away common : logic to make the entire plot easier to work away. I don't think that the UNSC had the option of a tactical strike at the time. Their three ships in the vicinity were powered down after the shockwave from the portal opening, and likely had no nuclear ordnance on board at the time. They needed the quickest possible solution to cause a large-scale annihilation, which was having infantry advance on the cruiser and destroy it's engines-the closest 'ordnance' accessible. If you pay attention at the beginning, you hear that your orders are to get to the ship and overload its engines. And seriously, Charley, when did all this bungie-bashing start? It's really kind of disappointing.
