In Response To: Re: The worst example is Floodgate (Narcogen) : The big, spore-laden Covenant cruiser streaking through the sky and crashing : in the previous cutscene didn't get that point across? : I sort of like the idea of a game that does not go out of its way to explain
I have to agree but... :-) Why is the Chief sent to the crash site? Shouldn't he be air-lifted out and a tactical nuke dropped on the ship? Was he sent to the ship to blow its engines up? Those were the sorts of things that weren't crystal clear, but... I think that we were told to get to the ship to blow its engines. Its just that its easy to miss the dialog when you're busy. I'm not complaining too much about that because I don't have a better way to get the info across. If I had an answer I would suggest that Bungie did things 'my' way in future but I can't think of a better way at the moment. Of course it doesn't help that the level ends when you get the Cortana pod. Maybe you should have had the chance to complete the task that had been assigned to you. You should have blown the engines. Even if you had missed the original task statement, it would be repeated when you got closer to the engine core, then the purpose of your dash to the ship would have been easier to fathom. And the level would have made sense in its own right. It wouldn't have just been an excuse to pick up the pod.
