Off the top of my head I can name 3 new plot-driven IPs that : sold just as well as, if not better, than most sequels out there. : Bioshock, Assassin's Creed, and Mass Effect. All lack any kind of : multiplayer whatsoever, but have been praised and accepted by the masses : as great games. Assassin's Creed being the least popular, in my : experience, but everyone I personally know loved it, and it sold very : well. Well, I don't know much about Mass Effect, but as for bioshock and Assassins Creed, I don't think the reason they sold was because they were plot driven. Assassins Creed's main selling point was the climbing and combat systems, while bioshock's was also a new form of gameplay. I don't remember any mention of plot in any of the hype about AC or bioshock.
