In Response To: Re: That's stupid from a gaming standpoint *SP* (thebruce0) : This. Strictly gamewise, as far I know, the story is internally consistent. : Additional material contained with the video game release(s) should also : be consistent and expansive with game knowledge, giving more depth and : detail, answering some questions. : Third party content is almost guaranteed to introduce inconsistencies, even : if based on pure canon. But it's the third party content that truly : helps expand a universe. It's the same for any franchise that takes on an : epic life of its own beyond the initial medium. Usually at that point it's : the fan community that helps keep things together simply due to the : enormous unmanageable wealth of detail and history that comes from so much : 'inspired' content. I'll give an example that looking just at the games, but not supplemental material, is not internally consistent: According to the game Reach, the Autumn arrives at Halo on September 19, 2552. According to the game Halo 1, Jenkins' helmet recording is in May, 2552. Halo did not take that long to play.
