In Response To: I think we hold the books in too high a regard. (Riceatron) **SPOILERS?** I think Halo's canon might become quite a personal interpretation. In my case it has. See, some folks who didn't like Bungie's Reach may just ignore it, and keep to the old line of thought while the lovers of the game will throw out the older Fall of Reach. Personally, I enjoyed Bungie's telling of the story, but for me, no matter how lost it gets in the canon now or in the coming years, I'll always love re-reading Fall of Reach. So I came up with my own solution (yesterday) by dividing the Halo canon up into the novels & comics story and then Bungie's version, like a novel and its movie adaption (though I'm not sure which is the 'adaption'). One doesn't override another, it's just different views of the same basic thing. Ultimately Reach falls, Spartans give their lives, and the Pillar of Autumn escapes to fight another day in both canons. Now we just have different interpretations to enjoy. Though one thing's for sure with this method: it's going to get a lot harder to have nerdy canon debates! :)
