: I think Halo's canon might become quite a personal interpretation. In my case
: it has. See, some folks who didn't like Bungie's Reach may just ignore it,
: and keep to the old line of thought while the lovers of the game will
: throw out the older Fall of Reach. Personally, I enjoyed Bungie's telling
: of the story, but for me, no matter how lost it gets in the canon now or
: in the coming years, I'll always love re-reading Fall of Reach.
: So I came up with my own solution (yesterday) by dividing the Halo canon up
: into the novels & comics story and then Bungie's version, like a novel
: and its movie adaption (though I'm not sure which is the 'adaption'). One
: doesn't override another, it's just different views of the same basic
: thing. Ultimately Reach falls, Spartans give their lives, and the Pillar
: of Autumn escapes to fight another day in both canons. Now we just have
: different interpretations to enjoy.
: Though one thing's for sure with this method: it's going to get a lot harder
: to have nerdy canon debates! :)
In that system, you'll have to wait and see what 343i embraces as the 'correct' info in future projects and adjust your system. Oops, nerdy debates continue!
