In Response To: I think we hold the books in too high a regard. (Riceatron) : Ghosts of Onyx. : Contact Harvest. : Evolutions. : Cole Protocol. : I like those. They're recent. They were written with the knowledge that we

: I don't like those.
: It is out dated and we need to quit saying OH HEY LETS CONFORM TO A BOOK
: Really, guys.
Well it just gets annoying when they keep saying that they're being consistent, when it doesn't appear to be. Frankie's "Don't worry it will all make sense" is always etched in my mind, however at least he had the courtesy to say it's going to get worse before it gets better. Anyone else found it's rather ridiculously hard to explain how Halo: Reach fits in to the Halo series to someone who's played the other Halos but hasn't read the novels. My conversations usually go like this: "Well it's before the first Halo game, set on the planet Reach. Well you know Master Chief, the guy you play in the other games, well he is a Spartan II and he was trained on Reach. But you'll playing as a Spartan III. Spartan IIIs are only spoken about in one book and well you're playing as one of those guys. Except these guys are super top secret and the Spartan IIs don't even know about them, except for Kurt (another Spartan II), who trains them. But in the books they're all dead or busy so like these are special Spartan IIIs, selected by Kurt, I think. And you know how I said before about the IIs not knowing about them, well ahh another one does, Jorge, and he's apart of the team, somehow." I even noticed there's simply no story introduction in the booklet. The game was still great, I just though they could've followed the books a bit more and still made a greater game. In my opinion more Spartan IIs were needed.
