You're making the assumption that the Encyclopedia wasn't actually compiled by monkeys from wiki entries and that it was faithfully fact-checked before sending to publishing. :P

(It was at the publishers before they hired the Ascendant Justice guys I'm guessing. No way they'd have missed that.)
