It's kind of a slap in the face to the brilliant atmosphere : of the first game. I'd rather that he'd been the result of a clone army experiment, that there were a large number of Johnsons in the UNSC. They always die but there are always more. The clone sarges train you through boot camp and you follow them out into active service. It would be a quick way to train new recruits.
