In Response To: Re: You people are confusing me. (Cody Miller) : To be fair, I don't think even Bungie knows what Halo should look and feel : like. We go from a fun adventure, to super serious, to noir, to firefly, : to gritty war game, to japanese anime, to overacted radio drama, to : american style comics. It's kind of been all over the place in terms of : style and tone. I'm only talking about the games. ODST was distinct and separate with its own style. Whether it achieved being "noir" was something you denied anyway, so I don't know why you bring it up here. I'm most decidedly not addressing the comics, I Love Bees, the anime, or anything else. Bungie didn't make those anyway. There is, I think, more than enough consistency between Halo 1-3 in style and tone to say that they feel like Halo. Since this is supposed to be Halo 4, to expect some similarities, allowing for 343i to put their own spin on the franchise, is reasonable. I think demonstrating a good grasp of the old goes a long way towards legitimizing any changes they might want to make-- changes which fans will no doubt show resistance, as fans are wont to do, and have done, even during Bungie's tenure with the franchise. I'm not judging the game. I'm judging the trailer. I'm judging it against other trailers. I don't feel the need to withhold judgment of the trailer until after the game comes out. This trailer, for me, does not do as good a job, as a trailer, as nearly every other Halo trailer has done. That's a first.
