In Response To: Re: Interesting Frankie Quote (speak2al) : Is it just a different variant of the mk. VI, perhaps one more suited for the : situation they're in? We already know that there are different versions of : the mk. VI, such as CQB, EVA, EOD Rogue etc. : I guess it's reasonable that there were bolt-on "spare bits"
First, forgive me for not following all the recent Halo fiction in the novels, comics, etc..but I was always given the impression that a spartan couldn't remove their armor by themselves? But we'll set that aside. I could kinda be maybe ok with there being another suit or something on board (after all, the Dawn was heading into battle.. it might have been loaded up with goodies). But here's my problem: the reveal of the bubble shield for Halo 3 didn't have any context, so it was great. It was just there to show us a new feature. We couldn't connect that moment with the Chief to anything we knew of the Halo story so far. What Frankie has going on here is silly. We know the Chief didn't have boosters when he went into cryo--he shouldn't have them immediately after waking up. Revealing boosters in itself isn't the issue--it's the context. They could have done something like a timelapse montage--have the chief waking up A LITTLE EARLY. They could have seen the alien construct in the distance. Quick shots of the Chief raiding an armory. A quick shot showing him repairing/fiddling with his armor. A quick shot of removing Cortana from the ship. He moves to the front of the ship. The alien construct is closer. Closer. Closer. The chief readies his weapon, and BOOSTERS. I suddenly have nothing to complain about!
