In Response To: Re: Interesting Frankie Quote (bluerunner) : But in the trailer we see no evidence of the other action. At the end of Halo : 3 we're left with "Wake me when you need me", and then the next : time we see the Chief is an instance where Cortana clearly needs him. I : think that led many people, including myself, to assume that this is the : first time the Chief wakes up. That assumption now appears to be wrong, : but we had nothing prior to this trailer to tell us otherwise. It left : some people confused, and people don't like to be confused. I should be really, really clear, because apparently ambiguity leads to suffering. I'm not saying that the assumption you mention is wrong. I'm saying it MIGHT be wrong. I'm saying there MIGHT be explanations that, in hindsight, make sense without making a mockery of continuity or canon. mnemesis mentioned The Hangover. I think it's an apt example of how this might work. It's also possible that 343 simply decided to strap on boosters because they look cool. I won't know until I play the game - but I'll wait until then to be annoyed. :)
