In Response To: Re: Interesting Frankie Quote (Louis Wu) : Oh. I see. : Because it's impossible that the suit upgrade could happen alongside some
: Got it. No, it's not impossible. It's just dramatically unnecessary. If that action isn't important enough to be shown, then it isn't important enough to explain how the suit upgrade happens. Call me nuts but I agree with Cody on this one. The only reason to dovetail the Legendary ending of Halo 3 directly into the announcement trailer of Halo 4 this way-- and to repeat the Chief's first name in this scene-- is to capitalize on the emotional impact of that scene. If the action of the trailer requires that there was intervening action, that link is weakened. How would that possibly play out in game? Are we going to see the Chief wake up from cryo twice, once without a jetpack, do some stuff, save Cortana, then go back into cryo and come out again? That's anticlimactic in the extreme. It's much cleaner if he's been asleep this whole time, and this scene is Cortana waking him because she needs him. If he's already gotten up to upgrade his suit or do anything else, then this isn't the first time he's been woken since he said that, and the moment is no longer worthy of being featured in the trailer except that it's also encountering the object we've already seen at the end of Halo 3. This trailer adds nothing of value. Just repeating the Halo 3 Legendary ending and having the Chief wake up and walk to the edge of the ship and look out would have been much, much better. I can only imagine that someone objected that there wasn't enough action in that, and that's a shame. Had the trailer been in the engine Halo 4 uses, it would have been even better, even without the action. I'm pretty sure this isn't how Halo 4 is going to look. At least... I hope not.
