In Response To: Re: Interesting Frankie Quote (DHalo) : Does it look like his armor is state-of-the-art? It looks old to me. Damaged, : too. And there may be reasons. What if the chief is less powerful in this : game, stranded in the middle of nowhere? What if it was to deliberately : alter the gameplay in a fresh new way, and to give a legit reason why : gameplay might be changed? Those are great ideas! Which of them is consistent with a jetpack? Which of them is suggested by a jetpack? Which of them is hinted at, in any substantive way, by the content of any frame of this trailer? The answer, as I see it, is none. The Chief's armor has been dinged and banged around since Halo 2/3; that's nothing new. The jetpack is new, and there's no way to explain how it got there, or any organic reason for it to exist without going into contortions. It didn't need to be there. Even if 343i intends to make jetpacks a standard feature in the coming trilogy, it didn't need to be in the trailer, which does not (and probably cannot) represent any gameplay situation, as you don't have control over the Chief's body in that way. Sometimes, cool stuff is just cool, and deserves to go in for no other reason. Sometimes, not. This, to me, seems more like the latter than the former.
