In Response To: Re: Interesting Frankie Quote (Archilen) : Yeah, but he was in a sealed cryo pod. To my knowledge, a cryo pod - or a : standard UNSC frigate for that matter - doesn't have state-of-the-art : armor manufacturing facilities. I'm afraid the "story reason" is : going to be just that. The ONI hid a top secret experimental armor : manufacturing plant on one of the cryo-chambers on the FUD so they could : test a new top secret experimental armor on the Chief. And they also : somehow predicted the Chief will end up in that cryo-pod through some top : secret magical shenanigans. : In the end, you can explain anything away with more or less contrived
I still don't see where people are getting this idea that the explanation will be ridiculous and that the cinematic we saw will be the same thing that happens in the game. Was the Halo 2 trailer the same in the game? No, in the trailer he was just jumping out of an airlock onto a Covenant cruiser and in the game he was giving them back their bomb. The Halo 3 trailer had Cortana moments similar to what we see in the game, but they were much more spread out in the game than in the trailer. The Arbiter appears in the game but not in the trailer, in fact, the entire context of the scene was different. The Starry Night trailer had a different looking bubble shield than we see in game. Why is everyone so worried about this explanation?** The point of a trailer is to get the general idea of the game across to the viewer. What this trailer said to me is that the Chief and Cortana are back, the Chief is getting an upgrade, we're finally getting answers to our questions from the H3 legendary ending, and that this new game might have a darker story and faster action. Nowhere in that trailer did I think "This is exactly how things happen in final product." I didn't think that because things are NEVER exactly how they look in the trailer. **To clarify: I'm specifically talking about the story explanations. I completely understand why someone would be upset about the redesign because they like the old armor better, that's a matter of personal preference. It's all the people worrying that he'll burst out of the pod wearing new armor with a crap explanation that bother me.
