In Response To: Re: Interesting Frankie Quote (Narcogen) I think I can sum up my thoughts without commenting on each individual point... I was reading your argument as condemnation of the game based solely on the information in the trailer, not condemnation of the trailer itself. Looking at things in that light, I can definitely sympathize with your point of view A LOT more. You make a lot of good points about this trailer when comparing it to previous Halo trailers, and I especially liked that you pointed out the lack of action in the Bungie trailers. It's hard to say if the hectic nature of the H4 trailer is to compensate for the lack of Marty's music or the new team running the show, or if it's simply trying to show us that the new game(s) will be faster paced or have more action that the previous ones. It could be any or all of those. On the subject of not having an answer to why the Chief has new armor straight out of the tube, I still think we shouldn't be worrying as much as we are about it. I made the argument that he might not even have the new suit until later in the game, and you argued that they should have shown something that happens later instead of the events on the FUD. My only guess as to why they would have avoided that route is because they want to keep a lot of it under wraps. By showing us the FUD falling towards the Forerunner thing, they made it clear that this game picks up right where we left off in H3 (the only other Halo games that have that kind of connection are Reach and H1). Yes, they could have done things differently. Yes, they could have done things better. I just didn't feel particularly worried myself, but that's (obviously) just me. I don't personally care if a trailer isn't exactly canon because in the end it's just a trailer; I'll complain in the event that the game DOES have a contrived explanation. As I said, I just feel as if people are overreacting. I didn't mean to imply that people shouldn't say anything negative about the game, just that people are coming across as overly negative, at least in my eyes. I'm just trying to understand why that is since I wasn't really bothered by the trailer. It wasn't the best trailer I've ever seen, of course, I just feel like it did what it needed to. I think I pretty much said what I needed to and answered most of the questions you were asking, whatever I didn't touch on I'll answer quickly:
