In Response To: Re: Interesting Frankie Quote (Lurono) : I still don't see where people are getting this idea that the explanation : will be ridiculous and that the cinematic we saw will be the same thing : that happens in the game. Was the Halo 2 trailer the same in the game? No, : in the trailer he was just jumping out of an airlock onto a Covenant : cruiser and in the game he was giving them back their bomb. The Halo 3 : trailer had Cortana moments similar to what we see in the game, but they : were much more spread out in the game than in the trailer. The Arbiter : appears in the game but not in the trailer, in fact, the entire context of : the scene was different. The Starry Night trailer had a different looking : bubble shield than we see in game. Why is everyone so worried about this : explanation?** : The point of a trailer is to get the general idea of the game across to the
: **To clarify: I'm specifically talking about the story explanations. I
I'm not necessarily saying the scene will happen that way in the game, in fact, it most certainly will not, it's just that the teaser trailer is supposed to give the first impression of the game. And when the Chief pops out of the cryo tube with an entirely different set of armor, sprouts jets from his back and grabs a gun we've never seen before, that first impression is that of confusion and lack of connection to the last time we saw him. To me, this seems like a bold, almost arrogant move on 343i's part; "you like Bungie's Halo trilogy? Well, this ain't Bungie. This is something different and we ain't afraid to shove it in your face!" Now, that was an exaggeration. I realize not all change is for the worse. It's just that when making the first impression, they should've been more subtle about it IMO, especially when they haven't yet "proven" themselves with a successful Halo title.
