There are practically no coincidences, everybody is acting true to themselves, doing things that make sense to themselves and their situations - and it just flows from one scene to another. They said that they wanted to string together a series of encounters and made the decision to put the story second. I can't really argue with you or Cody because I had considered posting something along the same lines. But I've had so much pleasure from the game that I can live with the patchy parts and appreciate the good that was in it. I understand that you probably think that no true fan would let less than perfect go without comment in case Bungie goes the way of the Star Trek franchise. That's generally my mindset. I share some of your reservations but I've got to say that I LOVE this game, its my second favorite of all the Halo games (only my first love comes before it). And I've seen some stuff from other people here that suggests that close up encounters can work. If they work for me then I will be in gaming heaven for some time. Thank you Bungie.
