You may hate them, but they have : their place and they have helped keep the IP alive. Even if it is full of : inconsistency. My sarcasm wasn't all that clear. That being said, the idea that the novels don't matter because games trump all is a stance some people take. I personally don't, and I value the backstory that has developed over the years.
