The ending of Reach was sad, but it was even more sad that I did not get to continue the story and was not a big part of it besides delivering the package. The look on Captain Keye's face at the end of reach pretty much sums up what I felt during the last cut-scene. Then I realized it basically made me want to play through Halo 1 again and that I really really want to know what happens to Master Chief and Cortana at the end of Halo 3. Hopefully that will be explained eventually, for some reason I really want to see a happy and or sobering end for MC and Cortana, they deserve it. Personally I think Reach should have opened with a dialogue between Keyes, other captains, maybe Acherson and Cortana and Hasley. Either discussing Winter Contigency or something of the other. Or have a more epic dialouge after the first level between Keyes, Hasley, and Cortana. Just to get an underlying story going that would later support what you do in the last level. Maybe even through Master Chief in that dialougue too making a wisecrack about noble six after finding out he would be the one to deliver the package. Like idk, Six, ha, I have more black ink and you know it, Cortana. I do however like how it ended with the Halo 1 opening. That was honestly my favorite part, that and the parts with Keyes and Hasley. Maybe because I care much more about those characters and know what they've done and delt with. Random thought: If MC delivered the package he probably would have stole a banshee at the end and made it to the Autumn and not died, something like maybe a nod to the Banshee crash cutscene from halo 1's last level.
