In Response To: The datapads are wrong. *SP* (Jordan117) The pads are essentially correct. If the Covenant had the power to glass most of the land on a planet then their ships would have been massively more powerful than what we saw in game. They couldn't have dissapated the waste heat from their glassing weapons, etc. And their alleged ability to totally 'nuke the site/planet from orbit' makes it hard, story wise, to explain why they ever bother fighting hand to hand. You are forced to constantly invent possible Forerunner artifacts on every Human world to explain why they are fighting on the ground. I think that Nylund has put this retcon in himself because it fixes the story problem that glassing introduced.
