In Response To: Re: Speak for yourself (Spoils) (Cody Miller) : Where exactly do you see any scene where 6 grieves? Even when Kat, Carter, : Emile and Whore-Hey die, I do not at all get the sense that 6 misses them : at all. : The ONLY time I get that sense is from Carter, when he mentions he wishes Kat
To answer your question directly, we see more of Six grieving than of anyone else. Right after re-entry, and leading up to Exodus--the dog tags may as well have been rosary beads. And if you don't think the cutscene on the back on Pelican was grieving, you must have had Marty's score turned down. (For shame!) I don't think you get Jilly's point, which is that you as the player grieve, and you are Six. Your grieving mileage may vary, but my Six grieved. When Jilly talks about a transformation, she's projecting her own for sure, but my experience was the same. People can go on about the lack of plot and so on, but plot was never the point of this game. Everyone knew the plot going in. So Bungie focused on the immersion and the resulting experience, and for me, Reach packs a bigger punch in that department than all of the other games, if for no other reason than you have to lose before you can win. It affected me pretty intensely, it transformed how I felt about all that went before, including the other character's deaths.
