I know a few people who didn't feel a thing for any of the ODST characters either.
Personally, I didn't mind much at all, same with Reach.
Maybe its because I'm not a massive personality myself, that I find their subtleties very believable and even relatable? I dunno.

Of course you're not alone. There's billions of people out there and you can't please everyone all of the time.
I personally have a big indifference to Master Chief and Captain exposition, I mean, Keyes.
While I know I'm not alone in that, I also know lots of people totally disagree.
And that's completely fair enough.

Well, my impression of Jun as very confident in his own abilities and comfortable with them. He's always cool and calm in his exchanges, even to the degree of being cold (referring to missing UNSC Marines as strays) or his little exchange with the 'suspected' Rebels.

As for Emile, I wouldn't go as far as saying traumatic childhood, but he does have a visible distrust and even disdain of civilians, which just so happen to be the people he's supposed to be protecting.
He wraps himself in the security of being a Spartan? I can see that.
He's the only one who never removes his helmet.
