They had the muscle structure of a 20 year old athlete, but they were still supposed to be very young. There's still just way too many inconsistencies with stuff that Bungie themselves claimed was canon, and I honestly believe that they could have crafted a much better experience working within the events that happened in The Fall of Reach and First Strike.
