Glassing was a : term inspired by a Committee of AIs, and they over-dramatized glassing by : making it seem more lethal than it really was. We see that the ecosystem has recovered within 50 years (well that's what the Bungie guys said in the commentary, I haven't checked the date myself.) That's to be expected, look at what's happening at Mount St Helens or any other volcano for that matter and Reach always was a tough place with an ecosystem used to marginal conditions. It also shows that Humanity has a future. That wasn't certain at the end of Halo 3. I need to watch that final cutscene again, do we have the Forerunner legacy? Did Halsey give it to us?
