Well yeah, again, I said this in the first post. "So when your game has very few significant events, your characters are left to develop through small ancillary exchanges." And they do show some character in these small exchanges. But how much character can you really show through these moments? The characters of ODST actually do this same thing; I think they just did it better, oddly enough. I think I attribute that to better voice acting and writing. Fair enough. But I think the reasons I didn't feel anything for these characters has root in some fundamental issues of their presentation and circumstances.
