In Response To: Re: Halo 4... (hotshot revan) : I loved Reach story,we will have to wait for halo 4 to see those forerunner : myths again,i love them. : Reach is badass What? I didn't say anything about the Forerunner myths. I said inconsistencies with the novel. Such as Halsey meeting the Spartan IIIs in the game when she didn't find out anything about them until Ghosts of Onyx. In the game she didn't even give it a second thought that she was talking to Spartan IIIs. In fact she knew Jorge. The Spartan IIIs were also supposed to be quite young. As in single digits when they were put into the program, probably around 15-17 at the most around the time Reach would be under siege. These people were well into their 20-30's. I'm a big fan of Halo and big fan of Bungie. I actually liked the Halo 2 ending, I thought it was fitting. I loved Halo 3. I loved ODST. I liked Reach a lot. I just think Bungie honestly did a really poor job with the continuity of the book compared to the game. Poor is a way to put it nicely because frankly they pretty much threw the book out the window. The novel was supposed to be approved canon by Bungie themselves, and they made the game as if it had never happened. I feel as though working with the events in The Fall of Reach and First Strike, Bungie could have crafted an AMAZING experience with the existing Spartan IIs. Instead they opted for Spartan IIIs and threw the whole thing off and went with a quick dirty way to get a decent story out. I think they did a damn good job making the Covenant scary again but there are way too many inconsistencies with the novel. The missions seemed to bear little importance to anything else Noble team did. And the character development sucked ass.
