That seem pretty clear cut to me. Both he and your : are correct in that an arcade machine needed to grab and hold onto a : customer by providing addictive gameplay and providing it quickly, but to : elevate that to being designed so that fun was the only consideration is : hopelessly wrong. Well if your revenue stream is entirely contingent on being fun at every single moment...I can see why he'd make the argument. Being fun would be elevated as the only consideration - well, aside from forcing you to put in quarters every so often.
