A big kicker for me: when I DO boot up Halo, then I feel like a schmuck for having a lower rank than all of my friends. WTF.

(The other day, I decided to 'screw credits!' and started up a solo Firefight Classic game on Normal, and it was a LOT of fun. It reminded me of my days playing ODST's Alpha Site for HOURS, just running around and blasting baddies. Score Attack is alright, but it's hard for me to relax on Heroic. Maybe there's something to this...)
