I can see what you're saying, but I'm not sure it's the same thing. Teaming up to do something hard is enjoyable, but the task you're tackling still needs to be inherently rewarding; WoW provides a narrative and a social structure for these challenges. Would teaming up to farm commendations, or even to get assists in matchmaking, necessarily be as much fun as playing with friends for fun?
