In Response To: Re: On Bungie and the Value of the Player's Time (KalamariKidd) : less : skill-intensive games, such as MMO's, racing games such as Forza or Gran : Turismo, WHAT!? Racing games can require a HUGE amount of execution skill. Go sodding play PGR3 (beause thats one I'm very familiar with) and get a Platinum medal in every tournament (which I have done) and come back and tell me its 'less skill intensive' than Reach. Frack me!!! The ignorance! Its not all about who has the better car you know, especially when you're all driving the same bloody car. True: driving games have integrated what we are now calling 'player investment systems' for a long time. Because they're naturally inspired by the economy of real racing circuits and the diversity of makes and types of cars and car modding communities et al. That does NOT detract from the actual skill that a driving game can, and many of which do, require from the player master the game/ compete with other players at the highest level. Jees, PGR has even been accused of being perhaps 'too hardcore' by its own makers; and its not even a simulation!
