Indeed, same here. It's easy to effectively 'shrug off' minor inconsistencies in order to make it work with our head-canon. Arguing over those minor..niggles..is pointless. :) Discussion certainly is good though, as points can be raised by fans that the writers may have missed. From there, the writers can either shrug them off themselves as well, or retcon past details to make them work, or write in new content later to make it work. And what they choose to do is entirely up to them; hopefully striking a satisfactory balance between their own passion for the story they want to tell, and being attentive and caring to the desires of their fans.
