The internal struggle among the Sangheili is about the only thing I find interesting and well-handled about the Traviss novels. Unfortunately, it takes a back burner to (what I consider) Kilo Five's politically foolish antics. They're trying to play all sides against each other and it could go pear-shaped very easily. Imagine if it got out that ONI operatives were kicking the hornet's nest so soon after the secession of such bitter hostilities? That would have horrific consequences among both humans and Sangheili.
