I'm no technical guru, but I have a feeling that is exactly 180 degrees wrong. Co-op over XBL or System Link would not allow you to, basically, use two XBoxes to run the game, thereby allowing you to render twice as many polygons. (How would that help, anyway, for the vast majority of people who AREN'T playing co-op?) The synchronizing issues wouldn't allow that to be the case. Instead, you would be running on one XBox (the "host") even though you were playing on two. (At least that is how multiplayer works, and I can't see why/how co-op would be any different.) In fact, if they were to implement co-op over XBL or System Link, they would have to make the levels LESS complicated, because you would need to transmit all of the information not only to the screen but also over the network connection. (That's why no multiplayer maps are anywhere near as complex as single player ones and why they even simplified things like the player models in multiplayer when compared to singleplayer. Every bit of data counts when you are networking.) -Sep7imus |
