This probably ties in with realism. Those grenades are frag grenades, after all. Their power comes not from the explosion but from the shrapnel. I remember 'nading a Hog in Halo a long time ago (well before I got an XBox for myself) and when the Hog went flying, I blinked and thought "WTF? Frags don't work that way! That Warthog shouldn't have even flinched!" So, I was actually satisfied to see the grenades didn't do that in Halo 2. Made it more real and thus made it more immersive for me. Personally, I've played Halo. I've played Halo 2 as well. Halo itself is tremendous fun, but at the end of the day, I'll go back to my dissappointingly realistic game that I didn't get hyped over when I bought it. Because, in all honesty, I bought Halo 2 for the express reason that I loved the Halo story and the Halo world. In my opinion, Halo 2 delivered everything I wanted and more. So....*shrug* To each his own, I say. |
