In Response To: Halo 2 is better (rant) (Trainee) : I'd have to agree, grenades and rockets have a smaller blast radius. I like
Totally agreed. I love a game that "feels" real, but not a realistic game. Realistic is boring. On the other hand, Halo and Halo 2 have that feeling of being real, without the annoying constraints of being realistic. Sure, cocking and tossing a grenade with one hand in a nanosecond is not realistic at all, but it feels just right (and feels much better than switching to grenades as a weapon, aiming, throwing, missing, switching back to your close quarters weapon, dying). Dual wielding reloading means Master Chief has three or four arms, but who cares, it feels just right. Halo 2 multiplayer is not completely balanced, but it's much better than Halo 1's "balance". I figure it must be really hard to truly balance a multiplayer game, but Halo 2 is a lot better and offers the ability to play in many different ways and still win. Or at least have a chance to. There are a few things that annoyed me about Halo 2: e.g.: One of my favorite gametipes in Halo 1 was Crazy King in Blood Gulch, with all vehicles on. The reason why I liked it: Because it's a lot of fun even with only three players (it's not always easy to co-ordinate when an 8 player match will happen). Seeing that Halo 2 has many outdoor levels, I figured crazy king would be awesome. But the Hill spawns in less locations, and very uninspired ones at that. I guess with all the enphasis on online play they focused more on CTF and Territories and such, and forgot about King of the Hill mode a little. Sure I was disappointed. Do I go around crying: HALO 2 SUXXORZ BECAUSE IT DOES NOT CATER TO MY EVERY SPECIFIC NEED... ? Not going to happen, I'm having too much fun right now. |
