In Response To: My thoughts (Postmortem) Lot of text to quote, so I'll post some responses: -The ending has obvious sequel bait, so I see Prometheus being to the mala'kak as Aliens is to xenomorphs and Predator to yautja. Now all we need is a series based around the River Ghosts. :) (Might have to make mala'kak and Engineers two different species considering that the film retconned a bunch of EU lore, but if we go by the two species theory, then it can possibly stay intact.) -The beginning is a bit head scratching. We see grass at the start, so life's already taken hold. And why couldn't the humanoid mix in his DNA with the goop instead of having to ingest it? It's really just eye candy. -Xenomorphs take on the characteristics of their host creature, but I don't think malevolance plays a role. -You make good points. However, the film was still a downer to me because even leaving all the Engineer stuff in the dark, the plot points are never given enough gravitas nor the characters. The 'Nostromo' crew was more interesting than the 'Prometheus' crew, Roy's quest for life was given more gravitas than Weyland...standing on its own, the film is incoherant. Compared to R. Scott's other sci-fi films, and it feels even more of a letdown, because he's done it so much better.
