In Response To: Re: My Thursday morning BBQ (just add flames) *lon (xSIVELx) Alright, it took a lot of time but I read every single post (with a message) and have formulated my views on the game: It's good...damn good. Sounds a bit simple eh? Yeah it is extremely simple and it's something that I say every time I turn it on. There are many reasons for all of these opinions and I expected them from the community only. Average gamers and casual Halo players absolutely dig this game. A big reason for all of the disappointment is because all of you did EXACTLY what I did. I brought the game home, fired it up on Heroic and start playing. I finished the game in a day or so. I felt unfulfilled and it didn't feel right. It felt like the game was too short and it felt like I didn't accomplish a damn thing. The simple reason for this is that the game is too easy on Heroic. So from there started over again...on legendary. And I can tell you one thing, it is extremely difficult, almost to the point of frustration. I've had to play the game a COMPLETELY different way in order to complete it on legendary. In turn, the game has been even that much more fun this time around. Every cutscene feels like a reward. Every checkpoint warrants a sigh of relief and a cheer. You can finally see that this game was meant to be played on the highest difficulty where the AI and level design are put to the extreme test. It forces you to use every skill in your bag of tricks. The bridge is a perfect example, I think I'm a master at working the scorpian now that I can snipe banshees on the move...three of them. There are so many things I want to write about the campaign, but I hate to keep writing an essay. Too bad for you! A lot of the same tactics still apply: pick off the grunts and isolate the elites. But now, there are snipers that will pick your ass off if you don't get them first (the way it should be). Elites aren't pushovers anymores, they reflect the Arbiters armor enchancements, on demand cloaking WITH shields and dual wielding make them hard as hell, but satisfying to kill. Moving forward with the first couple levels, the tunnel is a lot harder now, you actually HAVE to keep the covenent from regrouping or they'll kick your ass. In Heroic I just boosted by with the ghost, this isn't possible with Legendary. You need to play out every scenario. I'll stop there to eliminate further spoiling, I'll stick to what Bungie gave us. In closing I'd like to say that if you play this game on legendary persistently, you will get the experience Bungie wanted you to get. Heroic is for non-seasoned players, Legendary was made for the community, so you would have a challenge.
