In Response To: Re: Part 7 - Invasion Control gametype (pete_the_duck) : No, it doesn't have to be Linear--but if you're letting captured areas : function as spawn points, things would get really unfair in a nonlinear : map if say, one team rushes a territory that's in a good position on the : map and then uses that to easily respawn and reach the remaining : territories, while the other team is stuck spawning at home. In that situation, the team has executed an effective play. Plus, since they would be controlling all three territories, they would earn 3 points each second which would make even a 500 point phase last under 3 minutes. And as Chris was saying, that type of problem is more down to map-balance and testing than the core gametype design. Not seeing where the problem is.
