In Response To: Re: Why Halo's Objective Gametypes Suck - Part 1 (Revenant1988) : Duuuuuuuuuuuuude. That shit was the worst in Halo CE. Make a hog run on blood : gulch- the team dies= now THEY get your warthog AND theirs. : I don't miss that at all. But with destructible vehicles, 9 times out of 10 the vehicle ends up being destroyed. Other than being without a warthog for 30-60 seconds and without its occupants for ~5 seconds, your actions didn't really cost your team anything. "Nothing ventured, nothing gained" rarely holds true anymore with vehicles. As you pointed out, if your team lost the warthog in Halo one, then the other team had your warthog. Then they get a chance to capitalize on their gain, and you have the chance to win your warthog back. With the destructible vehicle system now, you just hang back at base for a minute until you get your warthog back. What does that teach you? Nothing. It provides incentives for driving dangerously. Your warthog is now dispensable. Please, think of the Warthogs. For just $0.20 a day, you can join the World Christian Warthogs Foundation. In return for your support, we will send you a picture of a warthog in need, neglected by Halo Reach's terrible, reckless drivers. Why should stupidity be rewarded? In order for people to drive smarter with the vehicles, they need to be able to lose them to the other team and get their asses handed to them much easier.
