I think there's some confusion on the topic here. The point is that any attempt to account for those things is an implicit admission that they need to be accounted for - in other words, that game mechanics have some weight in your idea of canon.

The point still stands that the rings' defenses don't seem that great, but I dunno.

Hadn't thought of that; maybe.

The fact that they take more hits to kill is gameplay, though. And in-game sizes don't count in the case of ammo being large to be more visible, or background scenery being small to be easier to render (I assume that's the reason). The line seems fuzzy.

Is that something in Legends or Evolutions? If so, the question still stands for the preceding 8 years.
