: It depends on whether you're talking game chronology or game design : chronology. The Halo 3 HEVs which were the same design as the Halo 2 : versions are chronologically in use AFTER the events of ODST. Waypoint all : but established there are 2 versions and that's fine. I'll look through : ODST game data and see if the filename says HEV for the drop pod model. Right, but they were little more than a Easter egg in Halo 3. It didn't even have a cinematic appearance. With ODST they went back and gave it a lot of love, since it was a pivotal point of the games opening. Doing with the drop onto the carrier what they wanted to do with the H2 drop onto Delta Halo. Whether Bungie considers them separate is another matter really, but they are no longer the keepers of the canon anyway. : The Longsword didn't change much beyond graphics on the outer hull that I : have looked at. The external hatches are still in the same place, the : viewport structure looks similar. Oh its nothing so subtle as that. The wings and engines are pretty much completely re-designed. The engines are now blended inside the wings themselves, instead of obvious pods under the wing. They used to extend well forward of the leading edge. Its most apparent from a top-down view. To me its one of the most significant changes to any vehicle in Halo 3, and I'm not just saying that because I'm somewhat obsessive of the things that go Nyaaawr through the sky. :P Still sitting in my photobucket
