Evolution itself promises eventual convergence. There is no guarentee things would be fundamentally different just because its a different planet. In theory, there should only be evolutionary differences if there is reason for it. Such as different gravity or atmosphere. Culture wise, depends. Given all the varieties in culture out there. Like I said, I don't like the idea of making something alien just for the sake of it. So I have no issue with 'aliens' having what some refer to as a 'human' culture. In the end, when you strip away the qualities we consider human, you aren't left with an alien, you're left with an animal. An Alien, in the form of Extraterrestrial life, doesn't have to be significantly different in all ways. Doing so for no real reason is, in my view, no better than 'humanising' them. : This has slid backwards because the female's only importance is as a reason : for the important people to have a fight. : She was a victim. : Even in Japanese culture a woman could take her own life. this one just : whimpered while the man steeled himself to kill her. Actually, I was referring to all the female characters, but especially to Miranda Keyes and to a lesser extent Dare. They tried too hard to make them strong women and it shows. Best female character in the Halo universe? I'd say First Lieutenant Melissa McKay.
