Just wondered if you're : actually referring to anyone in-particular. Part of it came from myself watching buckets of vitriol rise up on other boards because something official (like a book, episode, or comic) conflicted with certain people's fanfic, for example, character A marrying Character C instead of Character B. So I've got a bit of a lack of patience for fan artists and writers (and I speak as one myself) who yell "CANON GOT IT WRONG!!1!I HATE IT!!one!!" No, canon didn't get it wrong--you played with it in your art/fics and you mistakenly expected canon "ought to" follow the same line of thought that you did. I've got no issue with finding something in canon to be illogical, poorly explained, rushed, poorly developed, or just not enjoying it, etc. but if the only grounds for the criticism is "It's not like my fanfic!", I just have to shake my head. "Not the way I would have done it" is not the same as "suck." The other part of it involves a conversation between myself and a friend as to how much we want to incorporate Haan's design into our own female Sangheili characters and how much we want to play the "It's AU so we can do what we like" card. --Fil
