(Fil Storamee) : Part of it came from myself watching buckets of vitriol rise up on other : boards because something official (like a book, episode, or comic) : conflicted with certain people's fanfic, for example, character A marrying : Character C instead of Character B. So I've got a bit of a lack of : patience for fan artists and writers (and I speak as one myself) who yell : "CANON GOT IT WRONG!!1!I HATE IT!!one!!" No, canon didn't get it : wrong--you played with it in your art/fics and you mistakenly expected : canon "ought to" follow the same line of thought that you did. : I've got no issue with finding something in canon to be illogical, poorly

: --Fil It's all based on how "right" the said fanfictionists/artists think their works are. They place out this well thought-out stuff, get a huge fanbase going, then Canon comes around and kicks their ideas out the door. I, too, am a fan artist, but I don't take so much pride in my work that if any of my ideas are nullified by canon I'm going to go sh!t bricks. And on top of that, what's canon won't stop me from drawing stuff in my style, because my stuff is NOT canon. it's fan work, and will never be canon. Telling the creator of something they got it wrong when they're the copyright holders is absolutely ridiculous.
