Its very tenuous, no doubt at all, and I certainly don't imagine such a feat would be anywear near as dramatic and easy in the games. But in light of more recent information, it no longer seems entirely implausible. And like it or not, that is the nature of the Halo fiction, where little is ever truly set in stone. Now if we get a novel or a comic where a Spartan does just that, you'll be stumped. Thus, at this particular point in time and mostly because of Legends, I currently consider it: "Plausible, but unlikely".
